Mähöne goes Woods
This year Mähöne Brothers celebrates its 10th anniversary as a company. We have designed a new underwear line for our second decade. With Mähöne goes Woods – we are experimenting with wood-based fibres mixed with cotton and elastane. This product line is one of the steps we are taking to mitigate our environmental impact. It will support our carbon neutrality impact target for the year 2020.
Technical information – 47% Modal, 47% Cotton, 6% elastane, Made in EU.
Modal is a wood cellulose based fibre. It is produced from natural, raw wood material which is sustainably sourced from forests. Wood pulp is dissolved in a chemical solvent and the mixture is then pushed through small holes to form fibres. The fibres are then chemically treated, spun into yarn and woven into cloth. Throughout the process, the water is recycled and the solvent is reused to form new fibres, in a bid to keep waste to a minimum. Modal is also very soft and breathable with excellent absorption characteristics, making this underwear a pleasure to wear in all walks of life.
